Asri Dijangka Serah Borang Umno Sebentar Lagi Kepada Najib  PETALING JAYA: Bekas Mufti Perlis, Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin yang disebut-sebut akan menyertai Umno dijangka menyerahkan borang keahlian kepada Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak malam ini.Satu majlis ringkas penyerahan borang keahlian berkenaan akan diadakan sebelum bermulanya mesyuarat Majlis Tertinggi parti yang dijadualkan kira-kira pukul 8 malam ini. Spekulasi kemasukan Mohd. Asri ke dalam parti mendapat perhatian banyak pihak selepas Setiausaha Kerja Umno, Datuk Abd. Rauf Yusof mengumumkan khabar gembira itu semasa merasmikan mesyuarat Perwakilan Pemuda Umno Bahagian Bukit Bintang Sabtu lalu. Ramai percaya ulama muda itu tidak akan menyertai Umno kerana beliau seorang yang terkenal dengan sikapnya yang berpendirian tegas. Memetik laman web rasmi parti, Umno Online, Ab Rauf yang juga Naib Ketua Bahagian Umno Bukit Bintang berkata, kemasukan ulama itu akan menjadikan Umno lebih segar, “dibajai dengan ilmu-ilmu Islam dan seterusnya membantu kepimpinan negara membangunkan Malaysia.” Sejak itu, bekas mufti berkenaan mengambil sikap berdiam diri dan memberitahu akan mengadakan pertemuan dengan Abdul Raof. Sebelum ini, timbul desas-desus bekas Mufti Perlis itu akan menyertai parti politik dalam masa terdekat. Beliau telah beberapa kali dilihat menghadiri majlis rasmi Umno dan PAS bagaimanapun sehingga kini tokoh agama itu tidak pernah mengulas mengenai penyertaan beliau dalam mana-mana parti politik. |
